We have breakfast then make our way from Port Augusta to Stony Point and join a glass bottom boat cruise to view the cuttlefish. Each year between May and August, tens of thousands of Australian Giant Cuttlefish descend on the coastline of Whyalla for their annual ritual of mating and spawning. This phenomenon is the greatest mass gathering of these incredible creatures anywhere on Earth After our cruise we travel to Whyalla for lunch. After lunch the nautical them continues with The Whyalla Maritime Museum. Which is home of the former HMAS Whyalla, the first ship built in the Whyalla Shipyards in 1941. The Maritime Museum building houses a treasured collection of artefacts and memorabilia. The World War II Gallery. The BHP Shipbuilding Gallery and much more. Time to meander back to Port Augusta for a rest and dinner. (B D)
