After lunch we travel through, Horsham, St Arnaud and finally Bendigo for our overnight's accommodation. (D)
Day 2 : Bendigo - Castlemaine - Maldon - Bendigo

We start the day with a hearty cooked breakfast before we board the coach and make our way to Castlemaine where we meet a guide. The guide will join the coach and show us around the Historical town of Castlemaine.

Due to the immense riches which poured into Castlemaine in the 1850s and early 1860s, substantial administrative, commercial and private buildings emerged far more quickly than in many other centers. Moreover, the town ceased to grow when the alluvial gold dwindled and so the older buildings were deemed adequate for the town. Consequently many of the CBD's structures date from that early period. Lunch time upon us is in the main heart of the city (own cost). After lunch we board the train for Maldon. We travel through Mucklefield to Maldon on the railway built in 1881 (Steam weather permitting) We have a tour of Maldon specifically taking in one of the best vantage points in town from atop Anzac Hill which furnishes views of the Grampians, Mount Franklin and Mount Macedon in the distance. Returning to Bendigo for a well-earned rest before dinner.  After dinner we make our way to the Torchlight Procession lights up Bendigo's streetscapes magnificently on Easter Saturday evening. Featuring illuminated entries from local emergency services, community groups and the Bendigo Chinese Association. To conclude, a dynamic fireworks display will erupt over Rosalind Park. (B,D)
