A tour for the animal/nature lover
If you love animals and nature, you will enjoy visiting the zoo, a unique open-range sanctuary for endangered species. The zoo was established in 1983 on state-owned land as a breeding and conservation area that was closed to the public. Then, in 1993, it opened its doors to visitors as an educational facility, featuring several habitat exhibits that mimic the natural environments of the animals. Some of the exhibits include the Asian steppes, where you can see snow leopards, red pandas, and Bactrian camels; the arid north Africa, where you can spot cheetahs, meerkats, and fennec foxes; the African plains, where you can observe giraffes, zebras, and rhinos; and the Asian grasslands, where you can admire tigers, elephants, and orangutans. The zoo covers an area of over 300 hectares and houses more than 500 animals of 50 different species, many of which are threatened or endangered in the wild. The zoo also participates in various conservation and research programs to protect and restore the wildlife populations. We explore the park in our own coach, driving through the large open-range exhibits, where we can get a close view of the amazing animals and learn more from our knowledgeable and passionate guides. The zoo is a wonderful place to learn about and appreciate the diversity and beauty of wildlife.
